Gregor Mendel Foundation was instituted in 1991 to promote studies and research in Genetics, Breeding and Biotechnology. The headquarters of the foundation is Department of Botany, University of Calicut, Kerala - 673635, India. Membership is open to anybody interested in the objectives of the foundation and it can be obtained by requesting for the same to the organising secretary of the foundation along with membership fee of Rs.1000/-. The foundation organises Gregor Mendel Birthday Lectures, Seminars and Symposia and also publishes Gregor Mendel Foundation Proceedings and Journal. The supreme body of the foundation is Gregor Mendel Foundation Council.
